Why a generated design still needs engineering validation

A concept image is a communication artifact. Acceptance requires a separate, explicit engineering record.

AI-assisted methodology note · Published 15 October 2026 · Not an empirical study or client result. Specialist review is not claimed.

Separate appearance from requirements

A convincing image does not establish dimensions, materials, tolerances or performance. Write the functional requirements separately from the visual reference. Mark what the image cannot prove. Treat missing specifications as open questions, not as details a generator has implicitly solved.

Use independent acceptance gates

Require an accountable qualified reviewer to define the necessary calculations, simulations, prototypes and inspections for the intended use. Version each artifact and link it to the requirement it supports. A visual change can invalidate earlier checks; record which checks must be repeated. No universal checklist replaces domain-specific standards or professional review.

Report what is and is not established

Keep concept approval, engineering review, manufacturing acceptance and observed performance as distinct states. Record exceptions and unresolved risks before release. This note proposes a governance method; it is not a manufacturing specification, safety certification or report of a completed customer project.

Method and limitations

This is a proposed Roadyom working protocol, developed by separating evidence, decisions and acceptance criteria. It contains no original dataset, measured performance claim or independently validated result. Adapt it to the institution and obtain the relevant specialist review.
